Cheryl has over 20 years of experience in data management, analysis, and reporting in the nonprofit sector. As a senior leader in a non-profit organization prior to starting her own business, she has a proven ability to communicate information effectively to diverse audiences including community stakeholders and policy makers. Cheryl oversaw the collection, organization, and analysis of data to ensure that mission is met, and information is available for evaluations, resource allocation, and advocacy. She created materials to share the organization’s work and impact ranging from annual reports for foundations, state and local entities, donor appeal letters, and presentations to the Board and County Council. Cheryl launched Horned Owl Analytics from a desire to expand the reach of her experience and offer data expertise to other non-profits.
Cheryl holds a Masters in Geography from the University of Maryland and an undergraduate degree in sociology and international studies. She has worked in both regional and international organizations with a passion for child, family, and health issues. Her skills include qualitative and quantitative research methods, data management and visualization techniques, geographic information systems, and website development.
Cheryl lives in Maryland with her husband and two children. She volunteers as a Girl Scout leader and a librarian assistant in her daughter’s school.
